FEAR:RATIONAL OR NOT?

I know its been almost months that I have written any article for my blog but I guess a a young teen you just cannot make time for your interests at one point of time .But then all of a sudden ,your passions kick in and ask you to continue doing them .So here I am with a write up that I always wanted to write but was not capable enough in expressing what I actually wanted to .This feeling or emotion is not so uncommon-it is found in everyone; from a toddler with an indomitable spirit who wants to know the world to a grown up pot-bellied man who has seen the world .Every person on this planet has it- FEAR .Yes ,this time I wanna talk about what this tiny word actually means and how it makes a huge difference in how we see the world .

Let us begin with what I always do in my articles........find the dictionary meaning of this word-"an unpleasant emotion caused by the threat of danger, pain ,etc."
Now tell me what is unpleasant and what causes one pain?
For me personally fear is something so innate in my life .As a 16-year-old teen ,if you know me personally ;I basically fear about everything in this world .Like all teens I want to be rebellious but I can't cause I fear what would happen next and I end up being a submissive girl .I fear being different from others and not being accepted by my friends and thus, though I love being an extrovert I cannot mingle with everyone .I fear losing someone I love and getting abandoned by someone I love-both of these situations stop me from sleeping peacefully .I fear not reaching my goals and standards that I set for myself  and the list goes on if I continue .
I realize that no matter  what ,each one of you reading this have your own fears and some of yours may match mine .But do you think all of these fears of ours are worth calling rational ?Totally ,they are .Nevertheless ,we can overcome them if we wish to.

On the other hand ,what about the fear of a little girl who is unaware of the havoc caused by a virus for which there is no elucidation in her country(all of you know what I mean)? What about the fear of an old Muslim man who has been barely surviving as an illegal migrant in our country and has no guarantee he would slightly have a proper shelter above his head at least before he dies? What about the fear of  4.2 million refugees in Sudan who are homeless in their own country because of some futile Civil War between two turfs? If I go on ,there are instances of fears of not  individuals but of societies as a whole .

However ,apart from the fact that many do not know what is actually happening in all the above mentioned scenarios ,people pass their vague ,one-sided and ridiculous opinions on social media platforms ;not showing slightest concern towards these sensitive issues .There comes a Whatsapp forward stating that the country where thousands are dying because of a dangerous virus outbreak(CHINA-COVID19) has itself planned a bio-war  on other countries but their device had backfired on them .Does it make any sense ?At least people who consider themselves to be the responsible citizens should edify people ,but ironically they are the ones sharing these forwards to all their family groups and friends on Whatsapp .There is another forward showing people having exotic food in China and here our intellects pass comments on how they deserve getting these disease-outbreaks cause the food they eat is apparently disgusting .I believe it is in the hands of scientists to decipher whether their dietary habits are the reason for such outbreaks or no.............not our aunties and uncles making Tik-tok videos .

Then comes another video forward shoeing how all Hindus should be alert since the population of Muslims is raising at an alarming rate and by 2030s or so our next Prime Minister and most of the Ministers would only be Muslims .On the first hand tell me one thing ,isn't our country secular......so how does it matter if the Prime Minister is a Muslim ?And secondly tell me  which legitimate sources apart from the Census of India did one follow to reach to a conclusion that Muslims are going to overpower the Hindus,  when in reality they constitute only 11% of our population as compared to Hindu population which is 79.8%?Now tell me is it humanly possible for them to overcome Hindu population of such a  large margin in just 10 years or so ?
Not only these ,every hate comment you make on a person or an institution on social media sets out fear in people to express themselves .Although you think it is not a big deal ,IT IS .It effects how one wants to live .Appreciate people if you like their efforts ,if you don't like it ,then nobody is least interested in knowing your obnoxious thoughts honey!

And our social media platforms are abode to many such forwards sent by idle-minded intellects who build-up irrational fears and threats, when the need of the hour is to spread awareness .Guys ,GROW UP................this is what I have to say .All the fears that I mentioned above of mine and yours are nothing against all the negative impingement we get through social media platforms .It is high time that all of us realise  that all those people out there reaching for our help need us...........not our annoying forward messages .There are a very few who have a complete and neutral view on issues like this and are not afraid to openly tell them to people through their articles .And I am proud to tell that I have one such friend who is not apprehensive in putting his views forward through his articles .

I do not want to bore you all rambling about a monotonous theme .I just wanted to make a point that fears are one of the most common feeling everyone has but it does not mean you take advantage of those fears and portray them to be irrational to the world;,when the background of their unpleasant emotion caused by a threat is genuine .I would like to end this article of mine quoting Dean Koontz ,"Irrational fear feeds on itself and grows .You must deny it."
I hope each one of you makes the slightest of efforts to deny them.
