FAMILY TIME

Coming to the third article of mine ,I have decided to post on something that everyone of us is forgetting :FAMILY. You know what ,even our dictionaries changed their meaning for a  family .Now it states that a family means "a group consisting of 2 parents and their children as a unit". Seriously after reading this meaning on the internet I couldn't stop my laugh cause even google realized that no more families are together in homes but only mechanical people living in a unit .And unit means ,"A department of an institution with a specific function ".I guess now you people can understand how much our lives have changed along with their definitions .
                                                                                                                       As we know we are forgetting our roots ,I have decided that I will post an article regarding the time we spend with  our families .We recently went on a family trip and one of the member on the trip told that she has never been on a trip like this where she spent this much time with other family members .And that is when I realized that we people have stopped spending time with our own families in this mechanized world . There was once a time where people spent quality time with their parents ,grandparents and relatives but now is the time when children do not even know their grandparents' names!!! Okay ,now you people might feel that we stay away in cities because of our work .I agree but what about the time you spend with your own  little Nuclear families? I am sure that you don't even spend proper time with your family even during your dinner time; if one watches television while eating then the other is busy talking to someone on the phone or doing their work on their computer .So I request you to put your phones on silent or just put your work away for some time .I guess leaving all this for sometime is worth the time you spend with your loved ones .Next ,especially this is to the parents .Please give time to your children ;play with them ,ask them about their studies ,scold them or do anything but please do stay with them cause during those tender years of their lives your love and support is a must for their better development as future adults .When they call you for any school function of theirs ,please try your level best to go and visit because your children wait for you eagerly with a thousand eyes and this is because you people are their only HEROES!!! And you people have no rights to snatch away their little wishes of staying with you on their very special moments of their lives!!
                                                                                                                                                         And next ,I request all of the parents to please take your children to their native place and to their granny's place ,so that they know where they come from and do not feel embarrassed about what their family is! I am not joking because this generation feels shy to tell their friends that their elders work as farmers or something else that they now feel as a low respected work .Tell them it is nothing wrong and these people are  people who are actually the backbones for our country and the main roots for your family tree .This later helps them to respect relations and ethics cause that is what all the children of today are missing in their lives .And parents also do not bother about all this ,they just want their children to excel  in their studies and fields!! If their children earn more ,they feel that their children will automatically earn respect and values! But no ,just having money ,without any humanity helps them go nowhere .And all this comes from having some good Family time from their childhood and I can assure you that this will surely help .If you don't believe me ,look at the life of Dr.APJ Abdul Kalam who spent his childhood with his family and shared its burden and knew what family meant in his life .And now he remains a man with no black-mark in his life! And there are many more people like this in our history who knew the importance of families and became great humans .So let your children not be a frog in a well of 4 people but let them be a baby turtle in an ocean of relatives !
                                                 Finally I would like to quote Anthony Brandt ,"Other things may change us ,but we start and end with the family."
